A Sunday service for pluralistic explorations of the sacred in community
The Mystical Hearth is a Sunday service for all expressions of the sacred. It is a place to practice reverence without dogma, to re-remember who we are, and to be together in the vastness of whatever we call God, Mystery, Reality, Love. You do not need a specific belief to belong here, or any belief at all. Only a willingness to be honest, present, and open with however the sacred emerges for you and collectively.
The Hearth is the simplest sacred technology: a living center we tend to together. It belongs to no one, yet it warms everyone.
We tend to this center at each service through different portals:
· co-creation of a collective altar
· communal meditation
· a sacred passage and sermon offered by a teacher from rotating wisdom lineages
· 45 mins of deep reading of a sacred text of one's choosing (however you define sacred; whether that's a textbook, poetry book, or 1,000 year old text)
· sharing aloud the passages or poems that moved us in our reading

Where and when is service being held?
Every other Sunday in San Francisco at The Commons (www.thesfcommons.com) - A modern-day town square for communal meaning-making, personal discovery, and self-expression in the heart of San Francisco.
Who's organizing this?
Do I need to believe in a specific faith tradition?
No. The Mystical Hearth is a Sunday service for seekers of the sacred across every path, including no path at all. You can come religious, spiritual-but-not-religious, atheist, agnostic, or simply curious. We are here to practice attention, reverence, and honest relationship with the sacred together, using presence, shared ritual, and sacred reading as our common language. We believe the sacred arises differently for each person, and love has room for all of it.
What does "Mysticism" mean in this container?
Mysticism, in this container, does not mean special powers or peak experiences. It means relating to the sacred directly, from our individual direct experience, without needing a single institution, doctrine, or identity to mediate the encounter. Mysticism here is not an escape from the world, but a practice of various expressions of contact, interpretation, and becoming, tended to together.
